His purported objective is to generate an “index of suspicion” regarding the more conventional interpretations of the origin of life. Initially, he articulates a goal of “demonstrate the plausibility” of ancient-alien theory. However, Weisher’s study is not without its flaws. Moreover, he intelligently limns the dogmatism of the contemporary atheism, as promulgated by evolutionary biologist and bestselling author Richard Dawkins and others. Weisher is at his best when exploring what in his opinion are the failings of evolutionary science, which he sees as being limited by the dogmatic thinking of those who study it professionally. Finally, the author surveys documentation of UFO sightings and concludes that they confirm Sumerian texts’ accounts.

Largely on the basis of his examination of near-death experiences, the author argues that consciousness can exist independent of neuronal activity and depends upon an “extraneuronal source.” Thus, consciousness is not a neurological activity, he asserts, but something essentially spiritual and “bodiless” that permits humans to “interface with this four-dimensional world (length, width, depth, and time) in which we currently live.” Weisher takes readers on a dizzying tour of ancient theological texts, with a focus on Sumerian and biblical works, in an attempt to demonstrate that the planet was created and inhabited by alien gods who created humans with an act of “DNA manipulation.” These aliens, he says, “concealed themselves for their own purposes and are under Limited Engagement Orders from a higher authority, a prime directive as mentioned in Star Trek.” Weisher produces what he considers to be evidence for these conclusions, noting, for example, that the existence of ancient “archeological enigmas” is unthinkable without assuming “a vastly superior technology and very advanced species.” He also draws on ancient spiritual scriptures to back up his theory that the aforementioned alien gods had atomic bombs-and used them. The author’s sweeping study, based on modern science and alternative interpretations of ancient theological texts, aims to demonstrate a theory of human consciousness that can’t be captured by scientific materialism.
